Devotional: Just as athletes train their bodies, we're called to "train ourselves to be godly." This involves intentional practice of spiritual disciplines like prayer, Scripture study, and self-control. These practices aren't meant to earn God's favor, but to position us to receive more of His grace and be transformed by His presence. Today, take an honest inventory of your spiritual habits. Are there areas where you need to "work out" more consistently? Perhaps it's dedicating more time to prayer, memorizing Scripture, or practicing generosity. Choose one specific discipline to focus on developing in the coming week. Ask God to empower you by His Spirit as you seek to grow in godliness.
