·       Paul begins with a very strong statement concerning the false teachers in city of Philippi.

o   They are dogs. They teach a false gospel that insisted that Gentile Christians follow Jewish law…including circumcision…in order to be saved.

o   They distorted the gospel by adding legalistic demands to it.

o   The pure gospel is that we are saved by grace alone, and that salvation is a free gift from God that only He can give, that we can never earn and can only humbly accept. And that gift is for all people of all nations and no one is excluded in the invitation.
