What We Believe
We believe the Bible is God's inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God to all mankind. The ultimate authority for everything we believe and do at North Shore Church is God's word, the Bible.
We believe that God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God. The ultimate motivation at North Shore Church is to know God and make Him known, and to glorify Him with our lives.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the sinless Son of God. He was fully God and fully man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross as a sacrifice for the sins of man, was buried, and rose from the dead. He is alive and is the head of His body, the Church. The ultimate message of North Shore Church is the person and work of Jesus Christ for us, in us and through us.
We believe the Holy Spirit is equal with God the Father and Jesus Christ. He has come into the world to reveal and glorify Christ, apply the saving work of Christ to men, impart gifts to those who are born again, enable men to live a godly life, and seal the believer for the day of redemption. The ultimate power within North Shore Church is the energizing work of the Holy Spirit to bring about the Father's will.
We believe that man is made in the image of God and is the supreme object of God's creation. Man became separated from God in sin and is in need of redemption and reconciliation with God. The ultimate message of North Shore Church is forgiveness and life found in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
We believe salvation is a free grace gift of God offered to all mankind. Only by believing and trusting in Jesus Christ can one be redeemed from the penalty of sin and be reconciled to God forever. The ultimate security of North Shore Church is found in God holding us to Himself and never letting go.
We believe that every Christian is in the process of being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ. As we study God's Word in fellowship with other believers, we find strength and encouragement to draw closer to God and have His life reflected in ours. Discipleship is the process of coming to love the Lord with all our hearts, souls, minds and bodies and to love our neighbors as ourselves. There is no arrival point, merely a process of being transformed by the renewing of our minds toward Him. The ultimate purpose of North Shore Church is to make disciples.
We believe that the universal Church is the body and bride of Christ and is made up of all believers in all the earth. The universal Church is made up of local congregations, such as North Shore Church, who assemble for worship, fellowship, evangelism, discipleship, and ministry. The ultimate role of North Shore Church is to represent God to our community and around the world as the answer to life.
